1. What is Yarn Boxed?
Yarn Boxed is a premium yarn subscription that delivers exclusive, hand-dyed luxury yarn and beautifully curated gifts to your door each month. Every skein is dyed just for our subscribers by Kristin of Blue Savannah. The notions and gifts are thoughtfully curated, designed, and crafted by Kelly of The Yarn Shop.
2. How does the subscription work?
Choose your plan, and each month, we’ll send you a stunning surprise box filled with premium yarn, unique gifts, and pattern recommendations. Also, join us on our blog, Yarn. Unboxed, and YouTube channel (Blog & YouTube Channel are still in the works!)
3. Can I make changes to my box?
Yes! You can make changes every month if you want to! It's important to us that you have control of your subscription. You are able to make all changes from your account dashboard. You can add or subtract additional skeins, change the name you would like on customizations, change the yarn weight between Fingering and DK, you can even have one of each weight! If you're unable to make changes, or maybe you're too nervous to do it on your own, let us know and we're happy to help!
4. Are subscriptions limited?
Yes! Subscriptions are capped, but we keep a waiting list for when new spots open up. If we’re full, be sure to join the list so you don’t miss out!
5. Can I choose my colors or fiber type?
Nope! Each box is a carefully curated surprise. Subscribers can choose between fingering or DK weight, but the fiber and colors are all part of the mystery!
6. Does the box include patterns?
We don’t include printed patterns, but we provide expert pattern recommendations in each box, on our blog, Yarn. Unboxed, and our YouTube channel.
7. Is Yarn Boxed for knitters or crocheters?
Both! Our pattern recommendations cover both crafts, so you’ll always have ideas for what to make.
8. Is this subscription beginner-friendly?
Yes! Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned maker, our yarn selections work for all skill levels. Our blog and YouTube channel will help you find the perfect project.
Subscription & Billing
9. How much does a subscription cost?
- $84 per month (shipping is included)
- $120 per month if you choose to add an extra skein
10. When will I be charged?
We bill on the second day of each month. Make sure to update any subscription changes on or before the 1st of each month before billing to ensure they take effect for that month.
11. Can I skip a month or pause my subscription?
Yes! You can manage your subscription through your account, as long as changes are made on or before the 1st, before the billing date on the 2nd.
12. How do I cancel if I need to?
We’d hate to see you go, but you can cancel anytime through your account. Just be sure to do it at least one week before the second of the month to avoid being charged for the next box.
Shipping & Delivery
13. Where do you ship?
We currently ship only within the U.S.
14. When will my box arrive?
Boxes ship on or near the 20th of each month. You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your package is on its way.
15. Can I track my box?
Yes! You’ll get tracking details via email once your box ships.
16. Can I pick up my box instead of shipping?
Yes! You can choose local pick up if you would rather pick up your box each month instead of having it shipped. We will notify subscribers when their box is ready. Local pick up is at The Yarn Shop in Twin Falls, Idaho.
What’s Inside the Box?
17. What kind of yarn can I expect?
Every skein in Yarn Boxed is hand-dyed exclusively for our subscribers by Blue Savannah. Our boxes generally feature Merino Cashmere Nylon (MCN) yarn, but occasionally, we’ll switch it up with another luxury base.
18. What kinds of gifts are included?
Each month, The Yarn Shop curates, designs, and creates beautiful, high-quality gifts—think stitch markers, project bags, and other fiber-lover essentials!
19. Can I purchase extra yarn?
Yes! Subscribers will have access to additional skeins for purchase, but availability is limited. Subscribers can also add additional skeins to their monthly subscription.
20. Can I buy past boxes?
Nope! Once a box is gone, it’s gone. We don’t sell full past boxes outside of the monthly subscription, so be sure to subscribe if you don’t want to miss out!
21. Will you sell individual items from the boxes?
Yes! Select extras and gifts may be available for individual purchase in our shop, but they're only available to subscribers.

23. Do you offer gift subscriptions?
Yes! You can purchase a prepaid gift subscription—perfect for birthdays, holidays, or just because. Choose the month of shipment, and duration, and we'll take care of the rest!
